Rutgers RDC Seed Grant Program
Under the 2008-2009 Academic Excellence Fund, the Rutgers RDC initiative is pleased to offer a
competitive call for Seed Grant Proposals. Up to five seed grants will be awarded to Rutgers
investigators for innovative research projects using demographic, economic, or health data from
the New York Census Research Data Center (NYCRDC).
Grants of up to $10,000 per project will be awarded to help offset the costs of conducting a research project at the
NYCRDC in Manhattan. Most seed grants will range from $5,000 to $7,000 per project.
Eligibility
Only Rutgers researchers are eligible for seed grant money. The principal investigator must have a Ph.D. or equivalent, and must be a
full-time Rutgers faculty or research staff member. Graduate students and part-time researchers
are encouraged to participate as co-investigators.
Application process
The application process for a Rutgers RDC seed grant is closely linked to the NYCRDC proposal process.
See detailed instructions for the seed grant program.
Step 1: By May 15, 2008:

Assistance with proposal preparation
To assist researchers who are preparing proposals to use NYCRDC data, we held a workshop with presentations by experts from the Census, AHRQ, and NCHS Research Data Centers. Click here for access to the slides and videorecordings of their presentations.
