2010 Project L/EARN intern wins student poster award at the Southern Nursing Research Society Conference
Feb. 2011: Dany Fanfan, a summer 2010 Project L/EARN intern, presented her research on acculturation, marianismo beliefs, body weight and physical activity among Latina immigrants at the 2011 Conference of the Southern Nursing Research Society. Although she was one of the few undergraduates presenting research at a session of mostly graduate students, she won a student poster award for her work. Fanfan, a nursing student and Gates Millenium Scholar at Florida International University, conducted her study under the direction of Rutgers Nursing Professor Dr. Karen D’Alonzo.
