Hector is a Carr scholar at Rutgers University. He enrolled in Rutgers College as an engineering student who majored in Economics as well. Hector writes poetry and works out as often as possible. While attending high school at the Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, Hector volunteered at the Bergen Pines Mental Health hospital working with elderly patients.
Hector's research interests are also diverse and include health insurance, projection modeling and the elderly. He intends to pursue an MBA and work for a major corporation. He will certainly introduce breadth into the corporate environment. Hector applied to Project L/EARN to acquire a strong background in statistics and computer skills. He found the program intense and warns future applicants to "prepare to give your weekends."
Of his unique position as the sole male in the summer's cohort he reports gaining useful perspective. "I now understand how women in the workforce feel surrounded by men talking sports and being macho", but concedes that his fellow interns "...are a great group...who really helped [him] out."
