2005-2006 Faculty Awards and Promotions

President Richard L. McCormick has announced the recipients of the 2005-2006 Faculty Awards. Congratulations to this year's recipients: Peter Guarnaccia, Joel Cantor and Julie Livingston.

Peter J. Guarnaccia, (Department of Human Ecology), will be honored as a "Leader in Diversity" for his efforts in enhancing multicultural, racial and gender diversity at Rutgers. Dr. Guarnaccia will also receive the "Creating Change through Cultural Competency Award" at the New Jersey Association of Mental Health Agencies, Inc.'s 2nd Annual Courage and Compassion Awards dinner in May.

Joel C. Cantor, Director of the Center for State Health Policy (EJ Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy) will be awarded the President's Award for Research in Service to New Jersey. This award recognizes exemplary research and its positive impact on improving the lives of the citizens of New Jersey.

Julie Livingston (Department of History) will receive the Rutgers Board of Trustees Fellowship for Excellence in Research.

The Awards will be presented on May 4, 2006.

Congratulations also to Keith Wailoo on his promotion to Professor II; Jane Miller on her promotion to Professor; and Julie Phillips on her promotion to Associate Professor with tenure.
